Lunacy

Today was the kickoff event of the 2009 First Robotics Competition. I had to get to my school at 6:30 in the morning to see the live broadcast of the new game description. That sucks since it was 9:30 in Manchester N.H. which is where the event took place. After the founder of First, Dean Kamen (who is pictured above), gave a speech the all new 2009 game was unveiled.
"Lunacy" is played on a low-friction surface that makes robot control much more difficult. This is supposed to simulate the driving conditions on the moon. To further add to the madness, the robots must used special wheels that help you're robot lose control. For a more complete description of this year's game, visit NASA's website. Our team has just six weeks to build a fully operational robot. Go Team 696!
